About

There I was, laying in a cabin in Canada, getting ready to speak at the Neurosequential Network Conference the next day.

I was FREAKING out! This is the conference Dr. Bruce Perry, my mentor, hero, guide, had created. I had the privilege of speaking, teaching, bringing knowledge to the participants. Who in the world am I? A small town gal from Wyoming. A survivor of an alcoholic home. What did I have to offer these humans?

My freak out involved me reaching out to a dear friend and having this meltdown of confidence, insecurity shining bright. This friend said, "Stacy, just Go Be You. You will say the things these humans need to hear, you will smash this. Just be yourself and you'll do great."

Such simple words.

GO BE YOU

From that moment of humanness, Go Be You, LLC was founded.

The words of my dear friend, anonymously named, A Wise Rockstar, have become a mantra in my life.

ABOUT STACY

I have  worked with families for over 20 years. My passion lies with working with the "tough" kids and their families. I have intense training in trauma-informed practices and excel at providing real-life, applicable strategies to parents, educators, and mental health professionals.

I wear multiple hats: international speaker, published author, a clinician, Service Member, mother, sister, daughter, friend, co-parent with ex-husband. The most important hat I wear: HUMAN.

ABOUT GO BE YOU

Go Be You is about coming together on a journey of LIVING; recognizing that it takes a village to raise children, and empowering, encouraging, and educating each other makes the journey much more enjoyable, easier to handle, and manageable along the way.

ABOUT STACY'S EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS

For those of you who want to know more about my education, training, and credentials, here you go.

I am Wyoming born and raised. I landed in Billings, Montana for my college career.  I earned a Bachelor's in Science Degree in Psychology Education from Rocky Mountain College.

After working for a couple years in school-based mental health, I realized I needed more education so I completed a Master's in Social Work through Walla Walla University in Billings, Montana.

After 2 years of supervision and completing clinical hours, I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2005. I am licensed in Colorado and Wyoming.

In 2013, I became a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard.  I serve as a Behavioral Health Officer.  This role has added a different lens to my training about trauma as I now see the impact of childhood trauma through adulthood. Serving Service Members is such an honor.

My desire to learn and grow as a clinician directly impacts all of my professional ventures.  I have additional training in:

* Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Phase I and II, Certified Clinician through The ChildTrauma Academy

* Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
